How It Should Fit
The Glycerin 23 fits true to size with a soft knit upper and a slightly wider toe box, and we stock every width Brooks makes — so it fits a broad range of feet. Order your normal size and fit the foot, not a brand rule.
Thumb's widthLeave about a thumbnail's width between your longest toe and the end of the shoe. If your longest toe touches the end, go up a half size.
Play the pianoYour toes should wiggle and splay freely in the roomy toe box. Cramped toes mean size up; a sloppy forefoot means size down.
Midfoot hugThe midfoot should feel held, not pinched. The knit upper wraps securely while leaving the forefoot room to spread.
A little heel slip is fineSome heel movement on early steps is normal and not a reason to size down — it usually settles as the shoe breaks in.
Width: we carry the full range — Narrow (B) · Medium (D) · Wide (2E) · Extra-Wide (4E). Your foot should sit on the platform, not spill over the sides. If it spills over, go wider — not longer. The roomy fit also leaves space for an orthotic.
Sock tip: a medium-thickness running sock (like Balega Hidden Comfort) pairs best.
