A Richer Shade of Running: The Tracksmith Navy Edit
Classic navy. Ready for your next start line. Choosing an outfit for a fall turkey trot or a marathon training run should start with comfort, not just color. The Tracksmith Navy Edit gives you two coordinated men’s outfits to test: Navy/Ivory short sleeves or long sleeves, navy shorts and the all-gender Eliot Ryder in Ivory/Grass.
Before you choose, ask three questions: Will you run or walk? Do you tend to warm up quickly? What will you need to carry? Those answers matter more than matching the forecast’s lowest temperature.
Training through fall for a longer goal? The 2026 Phoenix Marathon is scheduled for December 12, 2026. Use your fall runs to rehearse your outfit before that December start line. Check the organizer’s website for current event details.
For a turkey trot: choose sleeves for your effort
If you prefer less arm coverage while running, start with the Van Cortlandt Tee in Navy/Ivory and navy Van Cortlandt Shorts. Tracksmith makes the tee from its lightweight 2:09 Mesh. This is a simple combination to try on a training run before your Thanksgiving event.
Walking with family may keep you out longer at a lower effort than racing a fast 5K. Check the hourly forecast for the full time you expect to be outside. A familiar removable layer can help while you wait, but decide where it will go once you start.
For cooler training mornings: compare the long sleeve
The Van Cortlandt Long Sleeve in Navy/Ivory gives you more arm coverage with the same navy shorts. Choose it because you prefer the coverage in those conditions—not because every fall race calls for long sleeves.
Raise your arms, swing them as you run and check the hem before deciding on a size. Wear the top through a normal training session to learn whether the sleeves still feel right after you warm up.
For Phoenix Marathon training: rehearse the whole kit
A comfortable short run is a useful first test. Before a longer race, also wear the outfit on an appropriately longer scheduled run. Check for waistband movement, rubbing, liner comfort and whether your pockets work with your planned load.
- Carry what you expect to carry: test your actual gels, key and phone. Do not assume a pocket will fit them.
- Check comfort while moving: a static fitting does not tell you everything about seams or bounce.
- Make changes early: leave time for another run in the revised outfit.
Try the Ivory/Grass Eliot Ryder before race day
The Eliot Ryder in Ivory/Grass completes this color combination. That does not automatically make it the right marathon shoe for you. Choose based on fit, comfort and your experience running in it. Keep a proven pair for race day rather than switching shoes just to match the outfit.
Keep bags in the before-and-after plan
The Olmstead Pack and Shoe Bag in Navy/Ivory coordinate with the outfit for packing and travel. Check your event’s bag policy before bringing either to the start. These are not substitutes for a tested on-body fuel-carrying plan.

Fall race outfit questions
Should I wear short sleeves or long sleeves for a turkey trot?
Choose using the hourly forecast, your expected effort and what you already know from training. A walker and a runner racing hard may prefer different coverage in the same conditions.
Can I wear the same outfit for a 5K and a marathon?
Possibly, but test it for the longer duration and carrying needs. Something that feels fine for a 5K may rub or bounce during a longer run.
Embrace Your Pace.
