The Clifton, Reimagined — Your Everyday Mile, Made Easier
Whether you're logging your first mile or your five-thousandth, the Clifton has been a go-to in our store for a reason: it just works. This next chapter brings HOKA's PROGLIDE™+ series technology into the trainer you already trust — same smooth, ultra-cushioned feel you love, tuned up to glide even better underfoot.
We've fit hundreds of runners into Cliftons over the years, and this update doesn't chase trends — it just makes the everyday shoe better at being the everyday shoe.
Best For: Everyday Runs — the easy miles, the recovery days, the ones that build the base for everything else.
What's New & What You'll Feel:
- PROGLIDE™+ midsole with SCF foam — a springier, more efficient ride that still feels unmistakably Clifton
- Aggressive MetaRocker™ geometry — smooths your stride from heel to toe, mile after mile
- Breathable engineered mesh upper — keeps things cool and locked-in through Arizona heat or early loops
- Comfort collar — no break-in period, no rubbing, just put it on and go
- Reflective details — for the early risers and post-work sunset crew
- Podular outsole design — flexes naturally with your foot for a smoother roll
- Durabrasion rubber forefoot + super abrasion rubber heel — built to hold up to real mileage, not just showroom miles
Not sure if the Clifton's your shoe? Come find us — we'll get you into the 5 Point Fit Process and make sure whatever you walk out in actually fits your stride, not just the hype.
How It Should Fit
How It Should Fit
Where it should fit snug — and where it shouldn’t
A good fit hugs the midfoot, locks the heel, and leaves your toes room to move — with your foot sitting on top of the platform.
You want about a thumbnail’s width between your longest toe and the end, and enough room that your toes can move freely — your toes should be able to “play the piano.”
The streamlined, performance-tuned upper should wrap your midfoot snugly with no pinching across the top — a secure hold that stays put when you pick up the pace.
The heel should feel held with minimal slip. Use a runner’s (heel-lock) lacing if you want even more security for fast reps and turns.
How a good fit should feel
Stand up, walk a few steps, and check these before you decide.
Signs it fits
- ✓ A thumbnail’s width between your longest toe and the end
- ✓ Toes move freely — room to “play the piano”
- ✓ Midfoot feels hugged and secure
- ✓ Heel feels locked in with little slip
- ✓ Your foot sits on top of the platform, not over the sides
Signs to size or width-adjust
- × Longest toe touches the end → go up a full size to start
- × Pinching across the toes → size up
- × Foot spills over the edge of the platform → you need more width, not length
- × Heel slips a lot → try heel-lock lacing or a half-size down
- × Pressure across the top of the foot → you may need more volume
Coming from a Clifton?
The Clifton PRO is the smoothest, most pace-friendly Clifton yet. It keeps the tall, cushioned platform you know, now on the PROGLIDE+ system — rebound-boosting SCF EVA foam plus an updated rocker geometry that rolls you through each stride a little quicker. Same signature Clifton cushion, tuned to pick up the pace.
Coming from Brooks, ASICS, Nike, or another brand? Don’t assume a half-size up — fit varies by model and version, so go by how this shoe fits your foot, not a brand rule.
Try shoes later in the day when feet are at their largest, and fit to your bigger foot — almost everyone has one.

Sizing is easier to feel than to guess. Visit us in Glendale and our staff will watch you run, check your fit on the actual pair, and make sure the Clifton PRO is right for your stride.
