The improved midfoot wrap creates a secure, locked-in feel through the middle of the shoe. That balance continues inside the midsole. New P35X dual-density foam is firmer around the outside and softer on the inside, combining a stable foundation with a cushioned, responsive feel. You get softness where you want it, with structure around it.
Underfoot, the new Vibram XS DURA rubber outsole brings durability and road grip. Altra reports that it’s 8.5% grippier than the Torin 8’s outsole, a welcome upgrade for a shoe built to spend plenty of time on the pavement.
A breathable mesh upper, updated heel shape, and refined tongue details round out the fit, making the Torin 9 feel inviting from the first step.
